Case Study
Collaboration with Commune Design
This project began with a series of conversations around form and colour. Two ideas emerged: a set of nesting bowls designed to stack upwards, and a group of tumblers developed from one of my existing forms.
From there, I developed plaster models and moulds in the studio, beginning with scaled prototypes of the bowls and a full-size tumbler. At the same time, Commune proposed a palette of Pantone references, which I translated into coloured slip through testing and sampling.
Once the forms and colours were refined and approved, final samples were produced before the collection was made and delivered.
